Assessment & Treatment of Digital Use Disorders

  • Mental Health Professional CE's - Psychologists, counselors, social workers, nurses, and other mental health providers who are concerned about excessive screen use in the communities they serve. The course gives "hands on" practical instruction on techniques to use and is eligible for CE's. This course is temporarily closed. For more information contact [email protected]

  • CHES® Continuing Education - CHES® and MCHES® professionals who are concerned about screen use in the communities they serve or with their own families and relationships. This course is eligible for CHES® and MCHES® CE's.

  • BASIC (No CE's) - This course is for professionals but is not eligible for CE's. No tests are required. This course is temporarily closed. For more information contact [email protected]

Meet Dr. Sussman

ESCAPE Center

Clifford Sussman, MD is internationally known as a pioneer in treating internet and video game addiction. He has been in private practice in psychiatry for children, adolescents, and young adults in Washington, DC since 2008 and is an expert consultant for the Digital Use Disorder Track at Caron Renaissance in Boca Raton, FL. He has been featured as an authority on screen use related issues throughout the media and peer reviewed literature. He has presented on the topic to audiences of all types and sizes at conferences, hospitals, schools, and other venues locally and internationally. He continues to present frequently online during the pandemic. Dr. Sussman is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed an adult psychiatry residency at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh, PA, and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Meet Robin Bartko
MS, CHES®

ESCAPE Center

Robin Bartko is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®), certified health coach, author, and mom to a wonderful child with ADHD. Trained in nutrition, stress management, and positive psychology, she also has a master's of science from the Maryland University of Integrative health. Through the adoption education and support website she founded, Robin has mentored parents in finding support and resources for nearly 10 years.
